Jim Coogan has been working with the Oak Ridge Elementary School in Sandwich, Massachusetts on the topic of book writing. He met with grades 3,4,and 6 during the week of May 4th. He will be seeing grades 1 and 2 next week. The topic is how to put a book together. This is part of the school’s enrichment program that brings in authors from outside the school to work with the students.
Even with all the snow that February has given us this year, Jim Coogan has been able to visit the Oak Ridge Elementary School in Sandwich to work with students on the art of writing. Grades 2 through 6 have each had a 50 minute visit where Mr. Coogan shows plot development and illustrations of how books get into print. Cecelia the Seal Who Gets a Meal has been the focus book for this round of visits. He’ll be seeing grade 1 on Thursday, March 6th. Later visits, as part of the school’s enrichment program, are planned for the spring of this year.
